The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) covers an area of more than a half a million square kilometres, from Bundaberg in north central Queensland to Coolangatta on the New South Wales border and west to the borders of South Australia and the Northern Territory.
About four million people live within the Diocesan area, including more than 500,000 Anglicans. In the ACSQ, there are around 450 clergy in more than 130 parishes. Clergy and lay people form an integral part of the faith community. Through their commitment, love and service, they provide both practical care and spiritual support to a diverse community.
The Anglican Church works with a wide variety of partners to deliver a message of love and support across a range of community sectors. Committed workers and volunteers assist the Church to provide ministry, outreach and care to Anglicans and the wider community. From parishes and schools to residential care facilities, community care and social service programs, to theological education and financial services, each commission undertakes a significant part of the Church’s work.
